After lunch, let’s take a walk in the garden, quite literally! Massee Lane Gardens is a nine-acre area, and is an International Camellia Society “Garden of Excellence.” Once the private garden of David C. Strother in the 1930s, Massee Lane Gardens was donated to the American Camellia Society in the 1960s for its headquarters. Be sure to stop by the Visitor Center where you will learn about camellias and the development of the Gardens prior to walking the grounds. While in the gardens, be sure to also visit The Abendroth Japanese Garden and the Scheibert Rose Garden, where you can admire the year-round beauty the gardens have to offer.
For dinner, you can’t go wrong at Flavors Soulful Eatery. Locally owned and operated, they are serving up southern comfort food at its best! Be sure to check their daily specials, as their add-on items vary by day, but no matter the day, you can’t go wrong eating here.
