I have a 1996 Newmar Kounty Aire 5th Wheel and want to install an Onan 4.0 RV GenSet. Is an outer case necessary for installation, or is it mainly for sound and heat protection? Having trouble getting the lights to work with the plug-in cord for a 26 GMC 2500 Denali set up for flat towing. A company installed Blue Ox baseplates and an Air Force One braking system, but the wiring is not functioning correctly. They tried a Curt plug-and-play kit and a Blue Ox diode kit, but the lights still do not work. Seeking advice on resolving this issue.
